Endless search for updates

    Hi,
    After installing Office 2013 Pro PlusSP1, Visio Sp1 and Project SP1 (32 bit), WU search for updates endless. Before that, WU works fine. Any help, please?
    WIN7 Ultimate, 64 bit

    How you had Office 2013 activated and what version (VL, Pro) are you using?

    Try to use google DNS, sometimes it work.

    Open control panel go Network and sharing center, open the properties of your Ehernet, wifi card and select IPV4 protocol go to properties and assign 8.8.8.8 to the first line of use DNS server adress. Restart, check.

    have similar problem, Updated office to 2016, and WU would just stay on "checking for updates", tried allsorts of things from googling lol - non helped!!

    Have clean installed my system (Win 7 Pro x64) and now the fresh install will not update!!!

    Have tried resetting WU, changing DNS, trouble-shooters and even fresh installs! Anybody have any advise?

    Sorry for answering so late but I was also facing the same problem. abboddi1406 guided me in the right path.

    First installing WindowsUpdateAgent-7.6 solved my High RAM problem which was due to Windows Update service. After installing KB3112343 The windows update found the updates required

    After a clean install of windows 7 pro SP1 (media refresh) I've installed the Windows6.1-KB3102810-x86 to easily find updates. The system have found 155 package, I have installed them. When I reboot and launch windows update it stucks on "checking for updates", and it remain stucked on this step. After hours I have the same problem. Do you know a solution? I have tried to install windows 7 in different PC and in these days it give me the same problem, also using different ISO of windows 7 pro. Is there a problem in windows update?

    Just done a fresh install. Installed IE 11 manually but had the same update problem. I used the Simplix updater from the second sticky of this forum o install the majority. Update worked as normal after restart.
