Hi ... While I'm trying to install Windows 7 I get an error >>> A required CD/DVD drive devise driver is missing . If you have a driver floppy disk , CD, DVD, or USB flash drive, please insert it now . Note: If the Windows installation media is in the CD/DVD drive, you can safely remove it for this step It start the install process but stop and gives that error above . I'm thinking it needs the optical driver , yes ? If so , How does one go about doing so ? I have a Toshiba Satellite A200 , Model - PSAE0C-AH508C laptop . Pls help , Thanks
Are you installing from USB or DVD ? If USB, make sure you have the flash drive in a USB 2.0 port, I got that error when I had the flash drive in a USB 3.0 port
I'm using a dvd iso w7 disc . I did a google search on it and there is this guy that mention I need to use some sore or windows file from MS . I would if I could post the YouTube link but I can't on my post count . Though if one does a Google search for >> A required CD/DVD drive devise driver is missing . If you have a driver floppy disk , CD, DVD, or USB flash drive, please insert it now . And you will see this guy fixed . My problem I can't seem to find the file so I can install it on an usb stick .
How do you load a driver ? I mean how do you extract it onto a usb stick . I got the driver but I don't know how to extract it on a usb stick
Okay, I downloaded the USBDVD.exe tool file but how to I get it onto a usb stick ? Also I downloaded Rufus and all I understood from that program it format the drive . What am I doing wrong here ? Thanks
@urie: Thanks for to post the links to the Tuto's! @905dude: You need to have the Windows ISO file. Follow the Tutorial and all should be easy to do!
Okay , I went and used imgburn to create a iso file onto my usb stick . Now do I try to boot from the usb stick or keep booting from the optical drive ? Thanks
Your wasting your time using imgburn it can not make bootable USB but it can make ISO from DVD then use one the tools you were advised to use.
hi, listen it's not complicated. if u r sure about the driver u downloaded just integrate it in win 7 iso (u may use windows download integrator google it or search it on the forum) after that u just have to extract (use 7-zip for ex) the new iso to an usb stick. to be bootable its primary partition must be active. finally boot on the usb. good luck.
Correct me if I'm wrong but Rufus tool explain how to do so with an iso file but how or which software do I use to make the iso from the .exe file ? Thanks
What .exe file all you needed to do was use imgburn to make an ISO file from your windows 7 dvd then select that ISO file with Rufus.
But the Microsoft USBDVD tool is exe . I need to convert that file to iso , before I can do anything first , right ?
What ?? Run the Windows 7 USB to DVD tool exe > Choose the Windows 7 ISO > Choose the USB drive you are putting the ISO onto > Done
No only thing you need to convert to ISO is your Windows 7 DVD run Imgburn and select create image file from disk.
