Essentials Environment Config Error on Standard 2012 R2

    I am trying to add the Server Essentials environment on 2012 R2 Standard.

    The configuration gets to 67% and then throws this:
    "An error occurred while configuring Windows Server Essentials. Please try again."


    I can not find what could be causing the error, so I am not sure where to go from here.


    Anyone experienced this or have any idea's?

    Is this in a VM?
    I tried several times to set up a VM from the Standard 2012 R2 ISO and got the same error when trying to add the essentials role. I then set up a new VM first and then loaded the Standard 2012 R2 operating system and added essentials without any issue. I later installed on actual hardware without issue.

    I wasn't trying it in VM. But this is a good idea. I might give it a try tonight.

    I'm having the same error - hangs at 67%, using Server 2012 Essentials, in VMWare... :wallbash:
