    Need a little help here to figure out what's going on...

    Until recently I had a working hack of my ESXi server using this wonderful app (EsxBiosTools.v1.1.2):

    //forums.mydigitallife.net/threads/12982-ESX-ESXi-Bios-Tools
    (Request to mod - Please sticky that thread.)

    Many thanks to pix for this awesome tool.

    Unfortunately, my last update to version ESXi 4.1 320137 changed this. Since updating, my repeated attempts to get a working SLIC mod have failed. The tool seems to work fine and reports success with no errors. I can inject a modded bios and extracting the bios afterward shows that it is indeed modded. I have tried multiple BIOS for different OEM's, all V3.15 - no luck. Even though the bios IS modded and shows SLIC 2.1; I get a DUMP Error from within any VM.

    I don't know enough to speak with any sort of clue here but it appears that vmware is blocking the altered bios. Am I using the wrong BIOS version perhaps?

    Any help would be appreciated.

    I didn't have any problems with 320137 and the bios mod tools. VMs are still activated.

    That's really strange. I did the Shift+r Rollback to the previous version 320092 and everything is working fine. Tried the update to 320137 again and same issue.

    Anyone have any ideas why this is happening?

    Anyway, I think I'll just stick with 320092 until a newer patch comes out.

    Thanks for the reply, yngdiego.

    Just a quick update for future reference...

    EsxBiosTools.v1.1.3 fixed all of my issues. Currently running ESXi 4.1 348481 all vm's activated. Thanks again pix for the fantastic tool.
