    At every shutdown? It is related to Avast, try to disable it temporarily an then to shutdown...

    try disable all in MSCONFIG and see what results.. Sound like Avast and Nivida may conflict or whatever is..

    is nvidia graphics driver the latest one for Win7? and what nvidia graphics hardware is being used?
    also what version of avast does OP have and is the avast antivirus program up to date?
