Ive been a 500gb Maxtor External hdd. Ive plugged it into my windows 7 pc but its not coming up. I think the hdd may be corrupt. Is there any freeware that I can use to try and repair it?? Eventually, I want to format it to fat 32 but I need to fix it first. Thanks in advance guiys, any help with this will be very much appreicated
sometimes windows 7 doesnt like external with hidden 100 meg partition. (prior windows 7 instaled in old maxtor? delete the small partition in begining) use gparted live cd to determine if it does have it. to recover files from it see if find and mount works for u.
