ah dam that's bad, i thought it was possible to do that with this crap dell bios, thanks anyway domme2812.

yes, shakeyplace, i know how to get those 2 files but i thought there was a way to get all the files like with the samsung one, but it seems I was dreaming...

install winrar and then right click on the EXE and click EXTRACT simple and done.

if you want to open your rom or wph get the phoenix bios editor tool and open the file.

    go to : C:\Program Files\Phoenix Technologies Ltd\BIOS Editor\TEMP
the temp folder will have all your stuff

use a hex editor to read your files

i always use winhex why because i always have unless for some reason didt have it at the time.

from there you can open your files and check them to see if you can add slic 2.0 or slic 2.1. seems thats some pcs that dont have SLIC tables at all can not at this time add slic tables. i do not know about this i just have been reading and testing my self on a older HP LAPTOP my friend came to me with.

i have a gateway ml6231 and i want to get this moded like my other computers :)

No, the dell updater doesn't appear to use winphlash and winphlash dumps a corrupt copy of the dell bios... The only reliable tool I have found to read the bios is flashrom (Linux)
but bbsc in the other thread seems to have got the D630 bios modded successfully, and it is similar... I haven't had the same luck with the 6400, maybe I will have to try something a bit different for the 6400. I am sure once we get a few successes it should become simple

and i dont know if it's possible to totally crash the mobo without the possibility to flash back with a unmodded bios, so i'll prefere to be sure about the mod before i will have to call a technician to change the mobo of my M1330 :D
