Clarified by @DougQuaid in post #9, its not gigabyte, but gigabit chips, so my mistake ! 4x16 Gigabit = 8 Gigabyte
Apple is the source of all these troubles As far as I know, they start soldering components to Motherboards like memory chips & Ram ..... wtf ??? why ??? and other companies start learning from their bad behavior to gain more profit, because they think we are stupid f* customers, and we are, we buy this s**t, and we tell them it's ok! keep up. we should stop, and then - they will stop doing this anyway. any MSI / ASUS high-end laptop that I bought, never face this problem. I was able to replace SSD & Ram Safely remove the plastic Covers & battery & screws but still, I was able - they don't my life easy
If the mobo came with 16GB and now is showing 8GB one of the solder module is bad or the mobo is bad and is only reading 8GB, either way you have to replace the mobo unless you have excellent soldering skills you swap out the memory component , my money is on a bad mobo.

have you try flashing the BIOS with the latest firmware is a long shoot but mite as well try it you mite get lucky.
sorry, but these chips are 16Gb - gigabits, not gigabytes, so there must be another two chips on the board to get 8GB, two 16Gb chips are 4GB in total.
Oh my, you are 100% correct ! Thank you for clarifying my mistake here ! The mainboards do indeed have another 2 of these chips on the back.
