When I want to reinstall my computer, i must use a Windows 8 version. It takes many hours to download all the updates before i can download the 8.1 update in Windows Store. Is there a faster way to do that?

I have the Dutch language version.

    Already thanks!!

Why don't you start with a 8.1/10 media on the first hand?

Not sure who told you so, but it's not correct. Win 8.1 is a free upgrade for Win 8 users and uses the same licensing, so your Win 8 key will work for a fresh install of Win 8.1.

Also if your key is embedded in the BIOS, you can clean install either 8.1 or 10 and it will activate (at least it did when I did it).

Or you may need 8.1 first, not quite sure.

I find that sometimes Windows 8.1 installer won't accept a Windows 8 product key. Simple fix is to install the OS with no key entered during setup or one of the "setup keys" posted on Microsoft site then after installation enter your Windows 8 product key for activation and it will go through with no problem.
