Hi! Can anyone help me! I want to delete some files in Appdata but I cant delete it. Win 7 tells me, that I dont have the permission. But I am Administrator so I dont understand it. I have tried Unlocker and also Take Ownership. Nothing will work. Can anyone help me. Bye
Try right click file then rename it, then reboot your pc then go back into appdata and delete it. Cheers Delboy
Dear frankie3s and Delboy! I have used unlocker, but the file is not locked by a thread. Unlockler tell me that no file handle is used and when I say delete upon the next boot up, it will not delete it. Have also tried it to rename, not possible. Dont have the rights to rename it. Any other suggestion. Bye
Right click item, Properties > Security Tab > Advanced > Owner Tab. Who is the Owner ? Is it trustedinstaller ?
No, Owner is System! I can take ownership of the folder or file but I cannot delete it anyway. Any help is appreciated! Bye
OK, so after you take ownership, can you try Right click item, Properties > Security Tab > Edit and add your user name if not already there, and grant your self "Full Control".
I also have tried it and no chance! In Vista I have no problems with taking the ownership (and if file handles are active - Unlocker will do the job) and delete any file on my system. It seems that Microsoft have changed anything here in this Programdata folder. Bye
Maybe the hard drive has some corruption. Run error-checking to verify (right click on the drive, select tools then error-checking).
Dear Blackevil2oo1 and frankie3s! No corruption on the harddisk. Boot DVD is working, BUT is this the only solution the delete files from the Programdata folder. I dont have seen anything like that from the beginning with MS-DOS. Its real funny. Bye
