I do a lot of clean installs of Windows for people. My question is: After I do a clean install of Win 10 1607 Anniversary do I only need to install KB3216755,which is the latest rollup or do I also need to install some stack file they talk about??? If I do..What is this stack file and why do I need that as well. Thanks.
I have no idea...I guess you scan for updates and let it do it's thing...I want the quick way of doing the rollup. 1 file does it all or 2 if I need that stacking file I am asking about.
So you never watched what gets installed on a clean windows install? But here you go: (offline scenario) servicing stack, enable dotnetfx3 (optional), next the CU and last the flash update. Online it doesn't matter when you enable dotnetfx3 by the "adding features" option.
I would have suggested Cumulative Update for Windows 10 Version 1607 for x64-based Systems (KB3213986) for a start
Here is what I had today- update status window/'Updates are available'/installed (KB3211320) and rebooted/update status window/check for updates..'checking for updates....Your device is up to date' This all I have as of 45 minutes ago. *** Installed OS 1/18/15 clean Win10 pro 14393.0 Update history- 1/18- Update for Windows 10 Version 1607 for x64-based Systems (KB3199986) Cumulative Update for Windows 10 Version 1607 for x64-based Systems (KB3213986) Security Update for Adobe Flash Player for Windows 10 Version 1607 (for x64-based Systems) (KB3214628) Windows Malicious Software Removal Tool for Windows 8, 8.1, 10 and Windows Server 2012, 2012 R2, 2016 x64 Edition - January 2017 (KB890830) 1/30- Update for Windows 10 Version 1607 for x64-based Systems (KB3211320)
Thanks Tito but that is way over my head and what all them abbreviations mean..I simply want to install the 2 files I think are needed???? The latest cumulative and some stacking I have read somewhere????
