Well the advantage of this is that user does not need to install codecs or other stuff

you almost got me excited ;)
thanks, but old news... plenty of posts about this in the past

once you actually try this out you will find an AUDIO SYNC ISSUE, that's why this is still R3... that and the fact that there is NO SUPPORT FOR SUBTITLES

not to hijack your post, but THIS works nicely

Well i dont know about WMP12 but with VLC i have no problems with subtitles or audio sync with .mkv files. The only issue that was remaining was missing thumbnails and since this is taken care of i have no complaints ;)

my bad, when I dl the R3 a week ago it was only the techpreview, they must have removed it since they included it into the divx-bundle.

After installing DivXTechPreviewMKVOnWin7R3_0, I got the problem that AVI and WMV thumbnails are not showing at all.

    So, please help

myself i install klite x32 then the x64 codec pack, and only the codec and webplayer out of the divx pack.

Do not download the preview package, as the page says the latest DivX codec package includes an updated version of the MKV support. Install that instead.
