Did you successfully flash your modified BIOS with SLIC 2.1 on F.2E? Your screenshots show it everything worked with Windows 7, but then your P.S. notes confuse me and make me think you bricked your laptop. Did you brick your laptop or successfully install everything?
Yes, I bricked my laptop once, while I trying to flash other bios that I found here on windows 7. And the result is I can't boot my laptop again. I try many many times to recover my laptop, but I'm failed. So, I desired to send my laptop to HP Thailand for recovering my bios. But, in the last minute I found the way out, I'm try again, and this time I'm can recover my laptop. After that I think, I should not try to do it again. But when I found Yen's tutorial to mod phoenix bios. I try to mod my bios and flash it again on DOS. And you know, it work. So, if you guys need to flash you bios, you should flash on DOS, not your windows 7.
I extracted the original phoenix bios flashing tool. do you recommend I rename the file to their wph file and flash it that way?
Do you mean you will flash with winflash on your windows ? I never try to do that , I just flash on DOS. But if your windows is Vista and you replace original bios with my, it may work. Anyway, I recomend you to flash on DOS.
Will this BIOS also work on a HP Pavilion dv2530ea laptop? It's latest version of the BIOS on the HP site is also F.2E. Please reply, thanks.
Yes it is Wistron 30CD. And I am using F.2E, Released on 2008-12-15. I normally use WinFlash to update my BIOS are you saying I should not use that?
I recommend you to flash on DOS , but if your windows is vista , you may try. Anyway, I still recommend DOS.
A month ago, I upgraded my BIOS using the official update to F.2E on Windows 7 RC and it worked fine. So is Windows 7 RTM activated on yours now? What software do I use to upgrade in DOS? I dont have a floppy drive.
s**t man, I should have listened to you. Just bricked my laptop trying WinFlash on Windows 7 RC. I only have a USB stick.
