    Hey All,

I have finally decided to make the move to Win 10 RTM Professional Volume:MAK from 8.1 Pro. Since I'll be off from work for 2 weeks I figured it's now or never. :) I was wondering if there is anyway to do the upgrade or a fresh install and keep my activation status in tact? I prefer the clean install since things seem to run smoother. I've been looking for the above version of Win 10 in ISO format but I've seen so many I'm not sure which one it is. Can someone please help me find a Win 10 RTM Professional Volume:MAK ISO file? Can I create this version with the Media Creation Tool? TIA.

Never heard of a VOLUME MAK ISO, the used key is leading if it will be VL activated or OEMRET.

You can try a direct upgrade to 10 Pro, to establish a HWID for 10 Pro. Never done it from a MAK activated 8.1 but from a KMS activated 8.1 Pro it can be done by upgrading, using a 10586 (1511) Pro only ISO, and next you can clean install a more current build.

Pro now is part of the Consumer and the business ISO.

Thanks for the quick responses guys. Is that link for the MAK (Volume Activation) version of Win 10 Pro? It doesn't specify.

it's retail but it doesn't matter , using retail or VL version does not make any difference, you can use kms tool for the activation either with the retail or vl version.

A MAK key won't work with Retail correct? Upon further digging I found this "en_windows_10_multi-edition_vl_version_1709_updated_sept_2017_x64_dvd_100090741" on here which should be good for mass activations MAK.

Any valid key can be applied to Windows. If the ISO was OEMRET or VL doesn't matter.

Enter MAK, it becomes Volume_MAK. Simple as that. MAK needs to have remaining activations, of course.

Thanks. So to be clear a retail key would work on VL? Just ot be on the safe side I have the VL version of Win 10 and I also have a retail copy.

Just installed Win10 Pro and activated it with a digital license going around. There were over 4000 online activations remaining when I found it and as of now it was down to 1600 or so.

If you reinstall Windows, can you use the same key.
If not using the retail/oem generic key will suffice?

When it's home/pro (+N) and there is an existing HWID or MSDM, no need for inserting any key.
