What would be a good firewall to use for Windows 7? I'm already using MSE for my AV, but I'm still using the default firewall :| Thanks
I u know how to properly configure it's rules and policies : Comodo won't nag u like with standard settings, and is top of topnotch.
Would someone be kind enough to give me a direct link to the comodo firewall only download. Every time I try to I keep getting bounced around to different sites. I would greatly appreciate it. Edit: I got it but Can I use this on win 7? thx
As long as you got the latest 3.13 build, then yes, no prob. Works in native 64bit mode too if you have x64.
I use a piece of paper between my ethernet port and computer that says Firewll (I put it on red paper too so malware knows it is a firewall), so far it has worked pretty well.
I think that Outpost Firewall Pro 2009 is better than Comodo. I have used Comodo firewall and it blocked my internet connection sharing with my second computer - no matter how many settings I changed - it wouldn't let the ICS to work properly. Only when I uninstalled it, the internet connection sharing was working again. Outpost Firewall Pro 2009 is much easy to configure, doesn't block ICS and one can create an ip blocklist with it and use it with installations of Outpost Firewall on other computers. Outpost works very well together with antiviruses like - Avast, NOD32, Avira.
I had that issue too, just a few days after installing it. I managed to fix it through some online guides though. You can't call comodo easy to configure, that's true. I still prefer it personally.
i just uninstalled comodo due to it interfering with a particular program (a patched vst within a daw host). this was first pointed out to me by others that had the same problem. i'll try outpost and see how that goes. i may need to find out if online armor is doing the same thing in xp pro and a way to get it to ignore it
ROFL! This remind me of the old days when CD-Roms first came on computers. The funny CS stories of how some people couldn't find the CD-Rom player but they really liked the nifty cup holder But not to derail the subject, Comodo is a good product.
