I just use windows firewall along with avast antivirus 5 free and malwarebytes have done since vista and absolutely no problems.
Only Comodo and Kaspersky get good results on leak tests - the rest fail miserably. If you're happy to have someone steal your identity and clean out your bank accounts then by all means use Windows firewall or any of the others except Comodo or Kaspersky.
Another good firewall is part of Symantec Endpoint Protection but that is also a firwall. It is a little bloated but does not slow your computer down that bad and has a top rated firewall with options including Anti-MAC Spoofing, and an option to make it so websites cannot detect your OS version and browser make and version. It works really well. It even has NetBIOS Protection to make it so other NETBIOS packets from other subnets won't get into your computer. It works very well.
I have been using softperfect personal firewall for years. It is basic, which is what i like, you tell it what ports to open. Works similar to ip-tables on linux.
exellent-??? Which can totally protect you from all viruses?) I don't know any exellent soft. I'm Mac User, i'm using ProteMac NetMine. Maybe it's exellent.
