Edit: Fixed. The issue was that I was missing an update, KB3033929 (The one that caused the infinite reboots a few months back). I brute-force fixed it removing grub (and the entire linux partition by mistake), then takig 45 minutes to reenabling windows boot. Then it installed that update smooth as silk :D

So, now it's preparing to install from the ISO. The update still never showed up, but I'm not that worried about that.

Hi there! So, I was waiting for today to upgrade to Windows 10. As the Windows Update never started downloaded, and I wanted to get it soon, I downloaded the official upgrade tool. But no matter:

    • If I let it download itself, or I burn an ISO for the right version and architecture
    • If I choose to download updates before installing or not

An error message appears, which translated (from spanish) would be "Something Happened - Unfortunately, we're having issues checking if your system is capable of running Windows 10. Close the installation program and try again." (New here, so I cannot post a screenshot of the error)

This is the errorlog in the $Windows.BT folder:

    Code:

Do you have any ideas what could be causing this? I've checked for a few hours, but haven't yet found one single post about this specific issue. I hope you can help me :/

Fixed. Is there a way to close this thread, or should I just leave it as it is right now?

instead of saying it's fixed and requesting the thread closed, how about sharing with the community what you did to fix it?
