I'm trying to move uip to the latest BIOS for my wife's Compaq V5000 and ultimately put in a BIOS with whitelist removed (from your site). I run Linux on most of my machines so for the V5000 I pulled out the hard disk and stuffed in a replacement and installed a copy of Windows 7 in order to flash the new BIOS (the actual model number of the notebook is V5115CA and I downloaded the BIOS sp35204.exe from HP). When I try to execute the .exe (yes I did run it as administrator) to flash the BIOS, all I got were failures. I have not yet tried to use DOS to do the upgrade because I have no idea which of the 309b0f54.wph or 305b1f54.wph files I should be using. I have the same problem with the "whitelist removed" BIOS I downloaded from the "Remove-whitelist-check thread post #350522. So the question is: Which .wph do I flash and what is the best tool to flash it???? Herb
OK, I'll use XP! When it comes to the "whitelist removed" from your site, do I run the "swinflash" from the .zip file to flash it?? Herb
Tito, the swinflash.exe does NOT provide anything like you indicateso... I'll try WinPhlash. Now which of the .wph files should I flash?????? Herb
