I don't know, what motherboard and BIOS you have, but: 1) Never do flashing BIOS from Windows, it's too risky !!! Use DOS utilitity for this (e.g. AFUDOS for AMI) on bootable floppy or USB stick. 2) Some motherboards have "BIOS protection" realized via switch or pins on motherboard. If this protection is set, BIOS can't be erased, flashed etc. Check your motherboard manual or google.
Packard Bell-AMI As I sad I used every way but I can't achieve. There are two way probably: afudos and amiflash Can you tell me detail what must I do or any link that you know about it
afudos AMIBOOT.ROM error: erasing bla bla %0 ----------- amiflash => 'y' for all question and error again like "change yout rom file with existing one" As you see didn' work. Yen, link you that gave contain some dos commands am I have to use some of them or just using "afudos AMIBOOT.ROM" is enough?
I normally use: AFUDOS /iAMIBOOT.ROM But it seems it's protected. When you enter your bios setup, is there a bios update / flash protection enabled? You may consult your manual and have a look about....
No option for protection. "recovery bios" option was enbaled but I changed it disabled and tried again but no change. I'm writing last screen maybe you can understand the problem better ---------------------------------------- Bootblock checksum...ok Module checksums.....ok Error: Problem erasing flash000000 (%0) ---------------------------------------- ********** Also ther is Ami firmware update utulity(aptio)2.27 I used with aptio's afudos but this time an error seem "Error: Problem getting flash information" ********** I used afuwinx64 in windows 7 command line "afuwinx64 AMIBOOT.ROM" but this time I get this error "Error: unable to load driver" ********** I used aptio's afuwinx64 in windows 7 command line and an error seem "Error: loading driver" ********** I used aptio's afuwingui.exe with clicking and using as a admin option but again "Error: unable to load driver" I tried every way that I know but no solution. I'm waiting for your advices
Erm, do you try flashing in Windows Commandline? Thats wrong! Make a Bootable Floppy with Dos Files and your Bios Files or a Bootable USB Stick with the same.
Afuwin is to run in windows command line, this info is in readme text file For afuwingui there is nothing to say I thing becouse its clear "gui" grafical user interface I know so
What motherboard do you have AFUDOS 4.x doesn't work with some older motherboards. Some need AFUDOS 2.36 or 2.32 or 2.21 or 2.19, etc. Check your MB maunfacturers website and see what Version of AFUDOS is supplied to flash your exact BIOS. Do NOT Flash from windows with AFUWIN (even if there is one for your MB on that site) !!!!
So does anybody have a solution? I had the same issue with my Packard Bell bg46 BIOS error erasing flash... BIOS protection is disabled... Please help to flash my AMI bios here
Already managed to successfully flash my Packard Bell BG46. Use the files in attachement (aflash2.exe) just place your bios ROM file (you need to name it original_slic.rom - or rename the file in the bat file as you need) ran the flash.bat and voila it went perfect! Now I activated Windows 7 via offline activation without any problem
