Because of all the updates, I started installing Opera and Vivaldi as stand alone software. This stops the need to keep copying my settings every time I update Windows 10(not doing clean install seems to screw up the start menu). Unfortunately, Windows now refuses to allow them to be used as defaults. Even though they show up in the list, windows says no, they are "unregistered". Tried killing Defender to stop this, but no luck. Anyone no another way?

you can also work with cmd tool "assoc" and "ftype" or can export your assocs with DISM.

I thought windows defender might consider unregistered a threat. Vivaldi shows up in my list but links from other software do not get passed to it.
