I got my new laptop and forgot to write down serial before getting latest murphy78 disc and installing a non KMS activation version. When I downloaded a KMS activator it told me it "found a key" which didnt match the one showing in properties(I skipped typing in own code at install) and I clicked activate and it did so. I am just confused to if it worked out the serial for me from the bios or something or did the activator just install a generic serial code that activated?
The activator installed the appropriate KMS client key and then activated. That's what KMS activators do.
