Afternoon ladies and gents of MDL. Need help accessing the admin account of my windows 8.0 laptop. Have access to my account but it's not an admin, girlfriends account is the only Administrator by the looks of things, any way to access it or should I reinstall? Had this problem twice in the past with windows 7 and just used linux disc to reset, similar thing available here or does windows 8 not allow you to do that any more? Thanks in advance. Paul
Get hirens boot disk, super powerful tool. Reset passwords, unlock accounts, create new accounts and thats just part of what it does. Amazing tool that never let me down.
Unless the drive is encrypted or has BIOS lock (to not allow booting from anything else but HD only), just Windows password is no protection if you have access to physical machine, it can all be changed in seconds) sebus
Follow EFA11's advice, it's an excellent option to recover / reset the account password as I've been using this Passcape reset windows password 4.2 advanced several times with success.
if your admin account (Forgotten Password) IS an Microsoft account (web mail) you CANNOT reset/change the password [never] you cannot (by example) change inside windows a yahoo account password. you can do that only login to your yahoo account somewhere [other device] if this is the problem , the work around is to create another LOCAL account with ADMIN rights after that, with new admin account logged , you can delete the old admin account. there are a lot of ways to do that .
Try PCUnlocker Live CD. The latest version 3.8 can bypass the Windows logon process by temporarily patching the kernel at startup. Once patched, you can log in to either local account or Microsoft account with arbitrary password.
