So my aunt passed away and left me her laptop (windows 10). I wanted to format it but not sure how to change to windows 7. (I do not have any driver disks or anything once formatted. I have a brain injury so I have a hard time doing things.
I need some help and suggestions on software that I will need (before I format). Links and step by step would help.
***I wanted to change to windows 7 because of my concerns of windows 10 spying and such. Also wanted to wipe her old info and such so the laptop is back to new.
***Also how to I make a boot disc from a usb?
    So looking for:
    1. Advice info on how to format win 10 and change to win 7
    2. How to make a usb boot disc
    3. Software needed for this adventure
    4. Driver info (cause if I format I am afraid the pc wont automatically find the drivers ( ive had issues in the past where I needed a internet driver but could not get online to get that driver) on past pcs.

All my answers are based on the assumption the hardware can run and supports win 7:

Boot up a win 7 install medium and repartition the drive(s)
Use rufus, win 7 usb/dvd store tool, or just format the disk FAT32 and copy the content of a win 7 ISO to its root.
Create an uptodate win 7 ISO by using simplix updatepack or any of the simplix utilizing tools.
simplix utilizing tools will offer the installation of win 7 drivers

My personal opinion is that if you don't have any basic knowledge it's better to stay away from win 7, it's becoming more and more difficult and technical to maintain it, 6 months after it's deprecated by MSFT.

Maybe just stay on 10, and use the reset this pc option, clean all disks and let it re-install windows 10, the telemetry mostly is overhyped and can be easily disabled.

How would I disable the telemetry? If you feel it is better to stay on windows 10 I may do so. Would hate for something bad to happen. The laptop is a very good one it seems..
*I will sleep on it and think it over if I should goto windows 7. I would hate to break this pc.

*Thanks for the fast response everyone

    7Win88:
It would be easier to answer your questions and give you advice if we knew the description of that laptop.
What brand name and model name and model number and serial/service tag number is it?

So what I understand is windows 10 privacy is not too bad, correct? I just hate information stealing. Windows 7 is nice. But can be evil to install. If windows 10 is not to bad on privacy I will try it out I guess.

Or you can keep Windows 10 and use this: www (dot) getblackbird (dot) net

Win7 can be a pain to run on newer hardware.

.Windows 10 is not going to eat your children, kill your pets, or report your porn habits to the CIA. It’s a poorly designed operating system at worst. People have to stop paranoia.

Replacing Windows 10 with Windows 7 is one of the stupidest things one person can do today at all.
Of course, unless there is a very special reason for it - for example, a program that you need on a daily basis, but you can't run it in Windows 10. But such problems are mostly solved already by today, already 5 years of releasing Windows 10...
And as for that spying, really, come to senses once and stop this nonsense.
