the second script for manual windows update without your permission and without asking for will disable permanently WINDOWS UPDATE service in your computer. Windows Update Service will not work anymore if you do not start it manually Maybe can do more changes in your computer. So . is your choice to use it or not Cosmin
Why would I want to use stock windows update app? So it install every Microsoft junk they want me to install? And you're free to edit that script in notepad and see what it does and it doesn't permanently disable anything.
If you want or not to use windows update is only your problem, your choice I have a problem because your recommended script modified my computer setting WITHOUT my permission or prevent me somehow, and don't restore them after closing the script. and you and/or the original poster do not mention at all about this . so for me is a VIRUS behavior. have a nice day Cosmin
Don't worry,I'll share the when things invariably go wrong again .. as they have the last couple of times ol' Carol found nice Windows 10 tweaks.
@oneLess you talk crap you know it I know it and everyone else know it, you haven't even tried it and you talk crap. I haven't even recommend It I use it because of it let me choose what to install you can keep installing every windows update whatever they force you to update over their update center LMfao Even newbie like me know you can open any script in notepad and look at it and what it changes. You seems are even less than newbie
@MrMagic only tried to find way of getting rid of Microsofts junk nothing more. Actually that script or set of scripts I found sorted out most of things for me. if you been looking at it it will let you remove cortana defender etc if you want and no need for install_wim_tweaker. I tried those scripts found on mdl but they don't really remove apps they hide them. This one remove whatever you want to remove permanently
Thanks, I already killed Cortana and Defender etc Only looking for a better way to block telemetry IPs calling home every few seconds, peerblock works, but 3rd party is not great
Yup about 6 for now Shell experience was the reason I had to reinstall it again last night as some apps stopped working after I removed it I'm fast Lerner
iirc, shell experience controls also the system tray popups etc, so things like network and volume won't work without it StartIsBack can disable cortana and shell experience host
I have removed cortana there's no one cortana file left in my pc only some in registry I don't want to touch because of when I did last time I had the reinstall windows And you're right shell experience control popups and icons on the taskbar I disabled start menu by removing tile data model server it saved me a bit of ram and used startisback and everything works perfect. Do you know what for is AAD responsible?
@MrMagic OK do you know what Microsoft .Windows.ContentDeliveryManager is responsible for? And Microsoft.LockApp? I just found out Microsoft.BioEnrolment is responsible for finger printing
