    France’s National Data Protection Commission says Windows 10 collects too much data

    “Microsoft will release an updated privacy statement next month, and that will say Microsoft intends to adopt the Privacy Shield. We are working now toward meeting the requirements of the Privacy Shield.”

    I have yet to "upgrade" to Windows 10, and i don't plan to. Due to privacy concerns.

    I wonder if Windows 10 will be inn a more... secure state when they implement "Privacy Shield"
    There isn’t much info about "EU-US Privacy Shield" on Wiki though o_O

    Is there any hope that Windows 10 will be in a secure state... for us in tinfoil hat wearers?

    Who knows what the future holds? It's only been about a year since its release. Going forward I could see them adding more privacy controls and finally implementing full opt-out on telemetry gathering. As it is right now, if you have doubts, stay away. Articles like this, however, do give hope.

    The telemetry level can be set to 0 in enterprise versions of Windows 10 via Group Policy. Cortana has also been disabled along with many other features in the LTSB version of Enterprise, at the lose of feature updates. OneDrive can also be disabled via group policy iirc

    I understand, after next month's major update, to continue using Windows 10, you’ll have to leave a webcam permanently on and pointing at you, so that they can also watch your image.*

    * Joking of course

    I hear MS can auto turn on your webcam to see what's going on:eek:

    Which will make Bat.1 very happy:tasty:

    The French are A**holes. The US Military has NO problems using Win 10 and are in the process of installing Win 10 on all DOD computers. MS is under contract to DOD for Win 10.

    for me the issue hasn't been " how much data Microsoft collects " .
    instead it's the " lack of user options in their interface " .

    we should have some " option " to select which things we wish to share .

    thank you .

    Golden words.
    They should make it clear and create a single button "Disable all".

    What data? They dont leak any data, that would be an spyware/adware or soon an ransomware. Micro$oft is UNCAPABLE of such atrocity :biggrin:
