Will comodo free firewall with defense+ cause any problem with the functioning of Windows Defender present in windows 8? Also can I run prevx 3.0 along with it? Or will running comodo firewall with defense+,prevx 3.0 & Windows Firewall together cause any problems/make my pc less secure? o_O

I see...is there any other free firewall which is better than the default Windows Firewall? I actually saw that some Microsoft MVP's were recommending users to run Prevx or Malwarebytes Anti-Malware free along with Microsoft Security Essentials....so I installed Prevx...I guess it was a stupid move?

Edit:- So,I uninstalled Prevx & will install ZA free Firewall thanks guys...also can I install Malwarebytes Anti-Malware and keep it as a second scanner(by turning off the realtime protection)?

Can I use Malwarebytes Anti-malware as a scanner (i.e. by turning off its realtime protection since it might cause issues with Windows Defender & running it only when I want to scan a file) along with Windows Defender??

Yes you can use MBAM realtime protection ON alongside Windows Firewall.you can also use Prevex 3.0 /or its present Webroot SecureAnywhere AntiVirus.

If you are going to use Webroot then you won't need windows firewall.

You could try Comodo firewall custom install option and do not check geekbuddy, dragon , and defense. Also Comodo secure DNS servers are optional. Then there will be no compatibility issues whats so ever. Comodo is a nice firewall better than the default windows one

It's not a good idea if you run products like malwarebytes real time protection along with your antivirus and firewall. There are chances for getting it to conflict all together and system will be slow and sometimes it may get freez. So best idea is turning off such real time protection of malwarebyes or any other and only run antivirus and firewall peacefully. Use MBAM for scanning your PC when necessary and live peacefully:ninjastar:

Yes but I advise you to go to Malwarebytes Forums and read How to properly set up Rules and Exceptions for Malwarebytes and various Firewall and antivirus programs.

I'm quite satisfied with W8 default firewall running alongside with Bitdefender AV+ 2013 (paid license), defender is deactivated to avoid conflicts. Comodo seems to have a poor reputation by now, I wouldn't trust above mentionned review. The rule is 1 AV and 1 FW.

Yeah..I know that Bitdefender AV+ 2013 is awesome but I am looking for free antivirus software right now...which does not impact PC performance that much

Why not just use the whole CIS suite (without GeekBuddy)? I've tried other free solutions, none of them offers protection as good as COMODO offers. Performance impact? Other than when it's doing a scan on my computer, it actually don't give any impact to my computer's performance.
