is the 'oem Product Key' somewhere in a folder on the hard drive, ive used keyfinder but the reported key isn't accepted during a fresh install attempt, would like to wipe the crapware and all crapware recovery partitions before I gift it.
the installation media I tried using was win 8 pro x64 upgrade I got from MS, according to the info at Toshiba website to order replacement media was pro x64 oem, the operating system just states win 8 x64 nothing about pro.
usually, preinstalled machines come with a single language version of W8 / 8.1. Those keys stored in the bios do not match with 8/8.1 core or pro versions if you try to activate them. You certainly will need a single lp version for your new setup
lp being language pack ? is there an installation iso on this site somewhere ? or is my only choice to purchase the media from Toshiba.
depends on which version you need. Some single language versions are provided on MDL. If it is not exotic you might be lucky to get helped (not from my end as I don't have such versions)
Get 8.1 CSL from the repository and use an install key, once setup is done replace the setup key with the embedded one.
is there any cmd I can run that will identify exactly which operating system I loaded to the laptop, system shows 'windows 8' but according to Toshiba website its supposed to be 'win 8 pro, I do know its x64 just not sure if 8 or 8 pro.
it states its Valid and "Win 8 Core RTM OEM"DM", so according to the page "see more info here " my only choice for the iso is a torrent ? I don't have a torrent and have no exp with torrenting.
