    Hello all!:D

Im new here, and i will really appreciate if someone could help me

This is the first time im trying to reinstall windows, the reason it's because my system is kind of slow after 3 or 4 years withouth a reinstallation, and because i think im infected with some malware and spyware.

My problem is that i lost the original DVD of windows to reinstall, and i was looking for it, but i found this site. After a few reads, i have seen that i could go from Vista to 7, but i don't want to screw my pc because im new in this, so i come here asking: ¿What's the first thing to do before starting with this process of gettin a new version of Windows?

I have Windows Vista Home Premium 32bit SP2

¿Should i reinstall Windows vista or get Windows 7?

    Hope you can help me.:D

If you don't care about licensing, go with Windows 7 and use the Daz Loader (you'll find both here @MDL). Clean-install is always better than Upgrade.

If the system came with Vista then it has a SLIC 2.0 in its BIOS. That 2.0 SLIC can offline-activate Vista but not Win7. Please note that, should you want Win7, the Loader will take care of that!
If your system is an OEM distribution from one of the bigger OEMs, then it is offline-activated and the COA (Certificate Of Authenticity) key unused.

Depends on what you have. Vista ISOs are harder to hunt down these days. The Vista SP2 x86 ISO from this collection is still available. Note that Vista ISOs can install all Editions without modifications.

Now it's up to you to decide: Vista or 7?
