Hello all. Can somebody help me? I have old notebook fujitsu siemens v5535. I decided to change the hard drive to solid state drive, bought him (Netac SSD N530S). But this SSD is not defined in the BIOS. Help me, please:eek:
P.S.SSD 100% works, because Acronis defines him.

The windows install disk should recognize the ssd (if the bios sees it windows should too) and just let windows format the drive during install on it's own
Are you installing a Windows O.S. that is older than Vista?

Hello John Sutherland. Unfortunately, my bios(last version 1.13, and 1.13mod from this forum ) not have most settings.
I dont have any AHCI mode from SATA controller. Only "enable" or "disable". And yes, I initialize the SSD, and recorded to ssd acronis image (tib) of hdd, but it did not help me :((
P.S. Im novice here, and dont have permissions to insert the screenshots in post. There are screenshots of bios:

Hello @ digitalriver - O.K. So your SATA controller only has two settings, either "enable" or "disable". It's set to "enable", correct?

Did some digging. Your machine has a SiS M672 chipset and it supports SATA2 @ 300 Mbps. The SSD you have is backward compatible with SATA2, correct?

i am not sure, but all Acronis programs(Disk Director, True Image) works correctly with this ssd. ssd inserted correctly to sata connector (not via cd-rom box, not via usb-sata adapter)
This is manufactured page of ssd:

OK. Now I can see the screenshots on EFA11's post. Do you see the setting "IDE Channel" on the Advanced tab? Try changing that setting from enabled to disabled.

Im tryed, no effect. This setting enabled/disabled internal CD-ROM (cd-rom works via ide interface, hard drive - via sata). I think - the problem with this simplified BIOS. Maybe someone knows how to turn on AHCI settings in this bios. Also Im tryed to start PLOP boot manager from usb, but PLOP dont see ssd to :weep: It must be boot manager with drivers of SATA for this notebook.

It's a 2009 notebook? It's supposed to have native sata drivers in windows 7 already.
Have you checked this SSD to see if it works in a different pc to verify that it does work?
It must be recognized in the bios first before you can do anything else with this drive

Now on this laptop works windows8.1 without any problems. But from HDD. Problem not with drivers for windows, problem with bios. About linux - its interesting idea, because acronis programs(linux addon) - recognizes the SSD. And Acronis for windows(winpe any version) -not recognizes the SSD.
Joe C, at this moment I dont try this ssd in other pc, there is no possibility yet, but i will try at an early date
    MMHD util recognizes ssd:
