functionality of Windows 8.1 version 9600 before activation

    can someone confirm to me that without activating windows 8.1; I won't be able to use the full functionality of the OS

    as My second HD is not getting recognized when I open windows explorer, i remember this was something MS did back in the days of Windows Vista - is this still valid today?

    Im using non activated W8.1 since the RTM leak came and i think the only thing not working is customizing Metro :p i think ur problem with GPU driver ( not really sure tho )

    Just no Metro side customisation and an activation nag watermark on the desktop - otherwise full functionality

    nope it will never re-boot but funnily my backup HDD is not loading in windows for a reason

    You might need to initialize the disk under disk management.

    will that delete the files on the hard disk by any chance?

    it worked :) thanks a million man; I was actually looking for the application and never knew it is called disk management - appreciate your help, you saved me from formatting the HDD
