    hello
I just bought this gpu (1 gig memory) which constantly has its fan running at 40 % speed, even when its temp is 34 ° c.
I tried the gainward Powertool, the fan section gives only 40 % on manual and sticks to 40% on auto.
I want to lower the fan speed to 35 % minimum and 40 % maximum, how can I achieve this ?
GPU drivers are forceware 260.89, windows 7 64 bits
    Thks in advance

    thks
seems nvidia has kinda blocked the possibility to alter the default settings related to fan speed as it stays on 40 % after having put it on 35% min and 40% amx

Just create a custom fan profile for it and you'll be set.
Wait, you set it to 40% for max speed, and it runs at 40%, and you question this why?

as written before I want to lower the minimum fan speed to 35% as, by now, both min and max stick to 40% whatever the load in 2 d or 3d, the stock fan is a noisy bastard.

Having tried both afterburner and Gainward's "expert tool" I confirm that the fan speed is locked: you can't go under 40% speed, only upwards to the 100% max
hope this might help others :)
