    Nice job! Thanks! Not sure if it'll work for the Gateway GT5676 with a different BIOS string: 7B3G1P04, but should help a lot of people, myself included with a GT5694 RS780 on hand in which your BIOS mod should conceivably work. Appears your BIOS mod will work for the Gateway GT5692, GT5694, DX4200-UB001A, FX4200-EBF01A, DX4200-JB001A, DX4200-UB101A, DX4200-UB001A ==> all with the 7B3PXXXG BIOS string...but the Gateway GT5676 has a different BIOS string altogether with BIOS: 7B3G1P04, and as far as I know, a new BIOS mod for that motherboard and all with the same BIOS string will require a different BIOS mod than the one posted for the GT5676, unless there's something I'm missing??

    Your BIOS mod will almost definitely work for a Gateway GT5694 that I have here to update the BIOS to allow the AM3 Phenom II X4 CPUs....so it's very greatly appreciated.

    I couldn't really figure out why Gateway had 2 different BIOSes for the Gateway RS780 AM2+ Foxconn (Bengal) RS780 - 780G motherboard. There's one BIOS: 7B3P081G for the Gateway DX4200 series, GT5692, GT5694 and an earlier, different Award BIOS: 7B3G1P04 for the Gateway GT5676. As for the Gateway GT5694 or most DX4200, will your BIOS mod allow one to utilize the Gateway Windows 7 Ultimate OEM - 64 bit - upgrade uploaded elsewhere at Demonoid? Have another also question once the BIOS mod is updated with the one you've posted: does entering the Acer OEM Windows 7 License .BIN info w/ Acer SLP, updating SLIC to 2.0 to SLIC 2.1 and new, altered, modded BIOS affect the original Windows Vista Home Premium - 64 bit (OEM) Key that activates automatically with the recovery set.....does this key, deactivate after doing the BIOS mod with a 3 day activation period once the BIOS mod update is completed?

    Obviously, the objective is allow for Phenom II X4 AM3 Quad core Deneb CPUs to be installed and work correctly with the BIOS mod, and the Acer SLIC 2.1 and Acer License with Acer SLP (OEM) Windows 7 key is for upgrading to a Gateway Windows 7 - 64 without any (WPA = Windows Product Activation)...everything is slipstreamed OEM Gateway.....and yes, I do realize that entering the key on the side of the Gateway GT5694 or GT5676 case will go through, even if temporarily deactivated w/ 3 days remaining showing....

    It doesn't matter if it's a DX4200 or Gateway GT5676 or GT5694 or other model with the RS780 AM2+ Phenom X4 780G motherboard,

    The Gateway OEM-ACT Windows Vista Home Premium - 64 bit OEM product key is identical for each using the 2 disc recovery set(s) all w/ Gateway Part Number: 7521014R...

    Windows Vista Home Premium - 64 Bit - OEM Gateway OEM-act Product key for Gateway GT5694:
    ==========>>>> 6DX2X-QR7XB-3RBY2-BGQ2R-DR9M6

    Windows Vista Home Premium - 64 Bit - OEM Gateway OEM-act Product key for Gateway DX4200:
    ==========>>>> 6DX2X-QR7XB-3RBY2-BGQ2R-DR9M6

    Windows Vista Home Premium - 64 Bit - OEM Gateway OEM-act Product key for Gateway GT5676:
    ==========>>>> 6DX2X-QR7XB-3RBY2-BGQ2R-DR9M6

    Based on what I can see, the 2 Disc Windows Vista Home Premium - 64 bit recovery kit installs the exact same Window Vista Home Premium - 64 bit key from any of the various recovery set(s), model not dependent & all RS780 Motherboards through Gateways Recovery Media Program result in the same Recovery sets (Gateway GT5676, GT5694, DX4200..etc..all with Gateway Part Number: 7521014R....result in the same Window Vista Home Premium - 64 bit - key: 6DX2X-QR7XB-3RBY2-BGQ2R-DR9M6.

    Does this BIOS mod allow for the 64 bit Windows 7 Ultimate upgrade to activate automatically w/ Acer License & Acer SLP, updated SLIC 2.1 as posted & uploaded at Demonoid via torrent?

    If your BIOS mod by chance came from BIOS dump that I did somewhere else at BIOS-Mods.com with my follow-up post there in reference to the DX4300-17 BIOS dump... I offered up a BIOS dump from a DX4300 AM2+/AM3 motherboard that I have here. If the Gateway GT5694's BIOS can be updated to the DX4300's through your BIOS mod of the DX4300's BIOS dump, I can tell you it easily picked up a Phenom II X4 945 (3.0GHz) AM3 Quad core [HDX945WFK4DGI]....going from a Phenom 9750 (2.4GHz X4) on the DX4300's RS780 motherboard.

    Great upgrade in performance. The Phenom 9750 isn't a bad CPU, but the Phenom II X4 945 @ 3.0GHz X4 and 6Mb L3 & 4000MT/s out of 5200MT/s [HT 3.0] bus transfer is a nice upgrade. The CPU I've installed is a 95W Phenom II X4 945(3.0GHz X4) with C2 stepping in the DX4300's RS780, but that was only because it was a cheaper, inexpensive CPU vs. the newer Phenom II X4 945s w/ C3 stepping that are $140 or so.

    No reason to think it couldn't handle the C3 stepping, unless that BIOS dump and CPU's in the DX4300's BIOS results indicated otherwise.

    Do you think this motherboard should be able to handle some higher end AM3 Quad core CPUs such as the Phenom II X4 955 or Phenom II X4 965 with higher thermal design power of 125W? Just curious.

    I thought initially the DX4300's motherboard would have the same 95W limitation on Quad Phenom X4 CPUs as the GT5676, GT5694 or DX4200 do...in which it's best not to install a Phenom 9850 Black Edition, per say, with a 125W TDP.

    #1: Gateway Foxconn RS780 AM2+ uATX motherboards with 7B3P081G BIOS has Phenom capabilities up to the Phenom 9750 (2.4GHz X4) or very rare 9850 Phenom (95W Version) Quad core AM2+ CPU. This has Gateway Award BIOS of 7B3P081G - Dated: 08/21/2008 for Gateway models: GT5692, GT5694, DX4200-UB001A & most DX4200 series Desktop PCs. Hence, your BIOS Mod update should help considerably for people wanting to upgrade their CPUs to Phenom II X4 CPUs up to the Phenom II X4 945 w/ C2 or C3 stepping with BIOS above or 7B3PXXXG BIOS for their RS780 [780G] Gateway OEM motherboards.

    #2: BIOS: 7B3G1P04 Gateway Foxconn RS780 AM2+ uATX board has a different BIOS from an early 2008...Gateway Award BIOS: 7B3G1P04...same Phenom capabilities up to Phenom 9750 (2.4GHz X4) AM2+ CPU [95W TDP Limit]...but BIOS Revision WinFlash update for #1 doesn't work for #2. This BIOS is for models such as the Gateway GT5676, which was a retail model. This 7B3GXXXP BIOS has an early 2008 release date and no feasible way to update through Gateway, ..but the BIOS update you posted, unless I'm wrong, works for BIOS #1 above only and not for the Gateway GT5676 with an alternate BIOS: 7B3G1P04...this BIOS is a different Gateway BIOS string and the .BIN files will not sync up or match to do the BIOS mod update as posted by using the AFUWIN Award flash application through Gateway.

    #3: Somewhat newer DX4300 series previously in stores looks just like boards #1 and #2. Difference is the newer RS780 Foxconn motherboard is a Phenom II X4 AM3 motherboard upgradeable to a Phenom II X4 945 (3.0GHz) Quad core AM3 CPU. The Award American Megatrends Gateway BIOS for this one is P01-A01, dated: 04/29/2009. I did a BIOS dump for this motherboard on BIOS-Mod.com upon request. Model from which this board was tattooed by Gateway for...unknown. This OEM uATX board was purchased on eBay by myself. Unable to pull up system DMI info.

    #4: BIOS P01-A04...The P01-A04 AMI BIOS is the Award American Megatrends Gateway BIOS for the DX4300-03 model dated 09/15/2009. This is more recent BIOS that's probably the same BIOS as seen in Gateway models such as the DX4300-17....likely still in some retail stores that shipped with Windows 7 Home Premium - 64 bit & likely the same P01-A04 BIOS with Gateway System BIOS date of 09/15/2009.

    Did this by chance come out of the BIOS dump that I did somewhere at BIOS-Mods.com with my follow-up post there in reference to the DX4300-17 BIOS dump? I offered up a BIOS dump from a DX4300 AM2+/AM3 motherboard that I have here. Oh, not to get off topic too much, but had a somewhat bad experience modding a Gateway FX4710-UB802A with Intel G33 Express Foxconn Core 2 Quad motherboard in which the BIOS mod went through with the Dell SLP, Dell Certificate, Dell SLIC 2.1 update...etc...but now that AMI Award BIOS is not registering as an Award BIOS at all and I'm unable to revert/reflash to the previous original Gateway BIOS. It's successfully inserted a Dell OEM Windows 7 key, Dell Certificate, but the BIOS, when attempting to reflash with WinFlash gives something to the effect "Onboard BIOS is not an Award BIOS"...board functions, it's not a doorstop...but I guess I'll have to swap the messed up BIOS chip with bad info and put in a new BIOS chip...have to prepare the soldering gun.....

    Yes, I recognized your username at Demonoid, and knew it was you that posted that torrent for Windows 7 Ultimate - 64 bit (Gateway Version). Thanks for doing that. That was great that you posted that torrent. Worked out nicely too. With the Acer SLP, SLIC 2.1 and Acer Certificate, all's legit for now.

    Would this bios update allow for the installation of an AMD Phenom II X6 1045T Thuban 2.7GHz Socket AM3 95W onto a Gateway DX4200-UB0001A?

    Appreciate the help.

    Essentially, the general question can be reduced to - do these bios-mods allow for the installation of any AM3 CPU within watt capacity or must the mod be updated to account for newer CPUs on an individual basis?

    I have the newer BIOS 7B3P091G that I dumped from my dx 4200, but not sure how to send it to you all. I'd REALLY like to install this cpu, if possible :

    AMD Athlon II X3 450 Rana 3.2 Ghz Socket AM3 95W- Is it possible with your modded bios? And I'd be glad to send my newer version

    BIOS along as I see in the thread that it is hard to find. I verified that Gateway still only has the older RS780 Bios for download. Thanks!

    Interesting, I'm running this same exact BIOS -- 7B3P091G. I've just upgraded my original Phenom CPU with an Athlon II X3 455 3.3GHz, but it's showing "Process unknown" in the BIOS and in Windows.

    Will the BIOS posted at the top of this thread work in this instance? If not, is there a way I can dump and mod my BIOS to get it to work?
