Get Out Of Vista And Into Xp Home

    I have a new Compaq Presario with ASUS P5LP-LE Motherboard and Intel 945G chipset. Vista was installed. I have swapped HDD and tried to load a clean copy of XP Home. Installation stops and Hex info appears on the screen. I have a feeling that something in the BIOS or chipset configuration is baulking me. Can anyone help, please.

    have you tried formatting the partition on which you are installing windows XP

    delete the partition and start clean
