Not seen this anywhere yet so I thought it might be useful to some. Get your "Games" folder back. Copy and paste the following into the target for a "New Shortcut" on the desktop. %SystemRoot%\explorer.exe /E,::{ED228FDF-9EA8-4870-83b1-96b02CFE0D52} Open the shortcut and pin to start menu. You now have a link to games from the desktop.

I can't see why to use the complicated method when the easy one works better. 1. Open an explorer window. 2. Type into the address bar: "shell:games" 3. Press enter. 4. Grab the "games" box from the breadcrumb bar to you desktop, using your mouse.
Games to Win8 Context Menu Thanks Digital! .. Was LQQKing today for a way to add a shortcut to games to Windows 8. I now have all my Games in one location running from the Context menu with the games icon!
I installed this successfully recently on one system but doing it on another system now, I have nothing in Games Explorer. I tested the games and they run fine, it's just they're not showing in GE for some reason.
