    eh, ill spend 10 mins flashing my bios and others versus driving 3 hrs one way for a single copy.

    Cool... buy a Round-Trip Airline ticket for around €500-600 plus a hotel room for around € 500 (because the airline insist that there are at least 4-5 days between the flight to the U.S. and the flight back home to Germany) and get Windows7 for free... :rolleyes:

    Aaaand... there is no sign of which version M$ will be giving away for free at these events on the site mentioned above... maybe you'll get "Home Premium" only... :D:p

    so the moral of your comment is it is cheaper to buy a legal version from your local computer store !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! understand the word legal . by the way dont ask me about the war !!

    All the costs are 1000-1100 euros. Windows 7 Ultimate doesnt cost dat much in europe :rolleyes:

    no idea what your point is . the moral of the comment is it would be cheaper to buy from your local computer store :D or would anyone actually contemplate flying from europe :)

    nearest one to me is Miami which is almost a 6 hour drive... not happening. Thanks for the info though.

    I live a 100 miles west of St.Louis and I may go but I have msdn so I may not Nov 9th two after it is in stores

    Given that these events are meant for IT Professionals and there's a picture of Windows 7 Professional in the upper right corner... I would guess you'd be given Windows 7 Professional.

    I prefer M$ to send me a round-trip flight ticket rather than a cd key for win7.

    i'm totally in - and i'm going as a BizSpark subscriber / startup so I'm gonna bring as many of my friends as possible to pick up copies. I hope they're retail, but they're more likely professional edition oem copies. Either way, worth signing up, getting some free grub all for driving 20 minutes. :)

    They normally give out full retail, however they usually say right on the sleeve or even the disk that they can not be resold. I have received about 4 different DVDs of Windows Vista and 4 of Office 2007 by attending these events.
