I matched the version (mine is v1.1) before flashing the modified bios and after a reboot, the screen is blank. Any ideas on how to fix it? Gigabyte boasts of dual bios on this mobo which should (backup bios) automatically start if it detects main bios failure but no go. help please
Maybe a good idea to get youself an original bios update from Gigabyte website and try to flash with that, as it may have been a bad bios update file you loaded?
Yes, I flashed the bios via dos. on the floppy i'd the three basic files command.com/io.sys/msdos.sys and the bios flash part (the 1mb modified bios, the flasher) and bios 'performed' successfully before reboot. Proir to this try, I downloaded the gigabyte bios from the manufacturer website and added slic 2.1 certificate etc but checksum failed when i tried to flash the bios; so I downloaded the modified bios. and thank you for the quick replies, I'll try to recover the bios once I get home
ok, i finally got it to work. turns out the newer bios versions F11 & F12 won't post with the amd 1055t. steps I took to find out this BS from Gigabyte. 1) Tried all sorts of shorting pins (4&7, 1&8, 3&6 basically whatever I found on the forums and nothing would make the system post or display video) 2) Then I swapped the processor with an older semprom (just by chance, thank you lord) 3) Bios posted and screen showed version F11. Then I upgraded it to F12 hoping the 1055t would work but didn't. Then I put F10 back which I initially had before all this nonsense and 1055t posted right away. Should I call gigabyte and let them know? I checked newegg reviews where usually this sort of information is posted but didn't find any. Mostly I think because people would have a newer (am3)motherboard if they were pairing with the 1055t. Anyways, I'm 100% relieved. I didn't want to use my backup motherboard since it only has 2 ram slots and this has 4. Cheers ps: can someone inject slic into the f10 bios for board rev 1.1 link below download.gigabyte.us/FileList/BIOS/mb_bios_ga-ma785gm-us2h_f10.exe
