    I have Created a GodMode icon on my desktop.

    If I rename it, it turns back into a regular folder type and is no longer a shortcut to the GodMode.

    Is there a way to make this a desktop shortcut and not have the long GUID in the desktop name itself?

    For those that are not familiar with this, you simply create a new folder on the desktop and rename the folder:

    Code:
    GodMode.{ED7BA470-8E54-465E-825C-99712043E01C}

    and it then opens GodMode to all the hidden features, and policies all in one place.

    I have not seen this posted here.

    Create the GodMode folder someplace else (in "My Docs" for example), create a shortcut to it on Desktop and rename the shortcut.
    Works for me...

    So so simple one :

    replace "GodMode" by whatever name before assigning the value to folder

    When I create new folder and apply long UID name, it turned into "GodMode", not that long name :)

    i think if you have enabled show file extensions option in folder options then the UID will show otherwise it will not show.

    The same trick works in Vista/7/ and 8 now right? .It is useful but at the same time confusing :tea:

    I won't hide file extensions, so if you don't see the GUID, then your hiding extensions like "virus.jpg.exe"

    The shortcut option works fine for making the desktop look clean.

    I hate the name 'God Mode'... (and I'm not religios) It's just way too much of the naming.
    All Settings or like the original 'All Tasks" would be just fine...

    Instead of Folder just create a shortcut.
    1. field:
    Code:
    explorer.exe shell:::{ED7BA470-8E54-465E-825C-99712043E01C}
    2. field: Any name, please not 'God Mode'.

    I have been holding back from posting here.....

    I knew anything I posted would go down in flames.:D

    At the very least, this shortcut is now on many other desktops. So it's not all that bad.

    Damn so true, when it has a proper name already why name it God Mode instead of All Tasks

    Have it pinned in Explorer Favs itself.. Just type "shell:::{ED7BA470-8E54-465E-825C-99712043E01C}" in explorer and drag the Icon or Breadcrump(8only) down to your Fav Bar on the Left side of Explorer :eek:

    But why would you add it into a context menu, it's not really what you use often enough to warrant a context menu entry :p, you Put stuff into a context menu that you at least use several times a month :), not once ever 3/6 months :D

    May be cause i´m able to do so :D. On other hand i don´t use Win Explorer and my Desktop itself is seldom visible, so context menu reachable in Total Commander likewise is very comfortable .
    Btw, good you know my workflow better than me :cool2:.

    Yeah because getting into "All Tasks" is slower then pressing winkey and type what you want, :biggrin:
