Going to format a Windws 7 BIOS mod activated PC; What should I do to reinstall?

    Hello

    Back when Windows 7 first released, I manually modded my own BIOS (using the tutorial here) to include the SLIC 2.1 tables and using this method activated Windows 7. Now, Im going to format and reinstall Windows 7. How exactly do I activate it after installing it?

    You can use Daz loader in it's advanced "install key and cert only" modes and also Opa tool in the repository will work as same plus in "repo" there is manual ways to install key and cert...lol

    Understood. So I just have to install the cert and the key. Sounds great.

    You can do it yourself through CMD tho.
    Just run cmd as Admin, paste the cert that matches the slic in the C: drive, or somewhere.
    Then do:

    - slmgr -ilc *path where the cert is*\xxxx.xrm-ms;
    - slmgr -ipk *product key for the edition you installed*

    And you're done.

    Where were those certs as I cant seem to find them on my PC?

    download slic dumptoolkit it can backup you certificate and serial.

    You can backup the current activation with PMR's token restore or Orev's ABR Beta, then restore after reinstalling windows. All single click stuff.
