Chrome in Metro mode has been enabled in builds from the Dev channel for Windows since a few days ago. It's been running well for me.
The thread was submitted on June 08, but it was approved just now. In any case I have tried it for a while, my impression is that the current version is just a Chrome Desktop on metro screen background, I guess there would be further changes, maybe something like the FF prototype.
Beta or not Beta isn't the problem. If what that website says it's true then Chrome Metro is a fake and needs the desktop version running at the background, it won't run on Windows RT and thus is not a real Metro app.
My point is that Google already said they have a lot of work to do on it. It's BETA!!!! Means that things will change before it's actually released. It's not fake, it's unfinished. Now when it gets released, if it's still the same, then you can call it fake.
