Google Chrome New Tab

    Cannot make Google Chrome always open a link in a new tab. Windows 10 Pro and latest version of Chrome. Doing a search there are loads of answers that do not work for me. A lot are based on Google Toolkit, which is no longer supported. Is there a simple answer that works? If it involves installing a new app, I am always wary of apps, with adverts and other not wanted stuff.

    Cannot find a solution on this board, answer or link would be much appreciated.
