    Hello!

    Have anyone installed GTA IV on win 7 ?
    i have tried but its not working for me, anyone know how i can get it installed ?

    If you get the cracked one then make sure it's either the FeD0R or 0×0008 -one which seem to work best. All others are crap and don't bypass all the protection-triggers.

    It installs in compatibility mode for xp sp2 (weirdly). I had some issues with it running in-game though. Game freezes for a sec every time you press a button on the keyboard, making it more/less unplayable.

    I have it on Vista but haven't tried it on my recently installed Windows 7 copy. But I've tried Crysis Warhead and it works great :)

    It works great with Windows 7 64bit.
    I played 4hours and no problems!
    You have to only click of the setup from the GTA 4 and go under Compatibility and run the setup in (windows vista or win2000... and it proboerly works!

    Go into the installers folder in your GTA IV program folder... and install vcredist_x86.exe

    Then play!

    Just tried installing with Windows 7 failed. Then tried running compatibility as Vista, failed. Then tried compatibility as XP sp2 and it worked fine.

    I installed it with windows xp compatibility and applied the official patch and when I try to play it it gives me an error with the title: GTA IV: FATAL ERROR WS10 and text: "XNetStartup failed - Please re-boot your system and/or re-install the game." I rebooted and nothing. Is it from the crack? I have FeDor crack
    Windows 7 - build 7000 x64

    I couldn't get the FeDor crack to work with Windows 7 Beta x64, works fine with Vista SP1 x64. I don't think the GTA IV patch works with FeDor either.

    For anyone here thats running Windows 7 and GTA, it can be done, the Razor one works best,

    Also once its installed, load it for the first time, Then quit Once it starts lagging when u press bottons (mainly Left and right when your in the car)

    Now, Go to start bar and type "services" Inside the search bar, and click on "services"

    now go down to "Windows Event log" , now what you need to do is Right click it and go to properties

    now go to "Start up type" and select DISABLE,

    this will not really effect much as far as im aware, and it wont just let you DISABLE IT, it will probly say ERROR

    So anyway once u have selected Disable under Start up type, Restart,

    and Wala! PROBLEM SOLVED!!! NO MORE LAGGING! :D

    Now Go play it and Have fun! ^^

    i get a parental control error ... but the service is disabled....i can't find any solutions...pls help

    Works great on 7 x64. Even better than on Vista x64.
    B.t.w. bought the game :).

    when i try to run gta 4 on my windows 7 it sais error (dd3d30). i tried changing the compatibility and not checking the box but no luck. I have a gaming pc with all the requirements (nvidia 9800 gt by the way )???? what can i do?

    Its an old thread...!

    I've installed and played GTA IV on Windows 7 x64 no problems, and no need for the compatibility mode. I recently updated from patch v1.0.4.0 to v1.0.5.0 which just required an updated Razor crack, all good :)
