NVS are geared more for 2d applications and FX are for 3d applications. Once we know your planned usage we can eliminate a couple of the entries.

So, The Quadro FX vs FireGL is a no brainer, go FX for sure.

FX to deal with for 3d applications. --- FX 4800
NVS to deal with 2d applications. --- NVS 440

so to put in "order" lol

    3d
Nvidia Quadro FX 4800 <-- memory?? 4600 with 768MB would be better suited than this if the 4800 has lesser amount of memory.
    PCI-Express graphics card - NVIDIA Quadro FX4600, 768 MB
maybe a good place for this ATI FireGL V5600 PCI Express (PCIe) graphics card- With 512 MB memory

PCI-Express NVIDIA Quadro FX1700 graphics board - With 512 MB memory
PCI-Express NVIDIA Quadro FX570 graphics board - With 256 MB memory
PCI-Express NVIDIA Quadro FX370 graphics board - With 256 MB memory
