I fear this is outside my skill set at this time. However, this does work for English and folks can edit the language as needed on their own. (But I do encourage anyone to improve upon what has been accomplished so far)
@DAZ I'll be without The Internet for a few months . Should someone come up with a better and easier solution; Or should it be discovered that someone found a fix to a future, problem! I'd be very thankful if you could update post #1 in my absence (as needed, when needed). (It amazes me that even today there are places in America without so much as even dial-up or mobile Internet. I don't like leaving this. But I've been trying to get this to be a thing for a whole year since I first joined MDL. I'll be back.)
Folks can do that easily if someone tells they must. A random user who downloads a random one click installer expects that it works with one click, especially nowadays.
AFAIK Edge is a standard windows package I think that is pretty easy to export it and and install it elsewhere, just like the deduplication, the linux subsystem and so on.
OK, I can't get this to install the store on LTSB 2015, I do not know if it is by design or not. Another thing. To enable Store to run on administrator account in Server 2016 you must use this registry edit, then sign off, and back on again. Code: Windows Registry Editor Version 5.00 [HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\policies\system] "FilterAdministratorToken"=dword:00000001
Thanks for confirming! Some follow-up questions: 1) Did you use the appx archive uploaded by lucidus? 2) Did you run abbodi's Add-AppxProvisionedPackage command exactly as mentioned? 3) Did you run an Add-AppxProvisionedPackage command for the StorePurchaseApp too? 4) Did the Add-AppxProvisionedPackage command with -DependencyPackagePath parameter install the dependencies too, or did you have to install those separately using further Add-AppxProvisionedPackage commands? 5) Did you add the DesktopAppInstaller and XBox related packages too, and if so, how? By copying the folders or did you obtain their appx files from the ISO? 6) Last but not least, does the Store work to install apps? Did it self-update and also update any apps?
eb55d657f2e435425262886e4b14764311d66492 *SW_DVD5_NTRL_Win_10_1607_32_64_MultiLang_App_Update_X21-12056.ISO has two folders, "amd64fre" and x86fre". Both contain updated apps and each has three extensions to the files. *.appxbundle, *.appx, *.xml. And if the hash is what I've post, its not homebrew.
I've explained my thinking in the chat room. I see no reason for their ISO as the packages can be found within my copy of Windows Server (which are the most updated). Without any reasonable explanation, it seems "odd" for someone to not answer questions while continuing to push a volume label (unknown iso). Again, if their ISO is only the packages, I already have uploaded them, and so don't need their ISO anyways. The whole point of this project is to have this as a stand alone without needing another ISO. Post 1 is by design.
2016 = Works 2015 = No I used the latest files (after completing both Windows update and updating store). So they're compatible only with Windows Anniversary Update
I used XBox package and the store got installed, up and running perfectly on my 2016 LTSB. Brilliant job guys. Keep up the good work.
I have installed Store on Windows 10 Enterprise 2016 LTSB, with Cortana installed as well, and activated as Windows 10 Professional. As EFA11 confirmed, that's not a homebrew ISO. What's there to explain over and above what has already been written, multiple times? Just like you took the folders from your Enterprise system and packaged them for people to download, lucidus took the appropriate appx etc. files from that ISO and packaged them separately for people to download. So where does the question of everyone having to download the complete ISO arise? Moreover the advantage of using the appx files has also been mentioned repeatedly. No-one's forcing you or anyone else to use anything. But I just thought that since you kept asking for a simpler method you'd be interested in this, but clearly not because you're fixated on people having to download that ISO for some reason, when it's obvious that no-one needs the entire ISO just for the Store and its dependencies.
