    Could you explain me how to add GUI to Windows Server 2008/2008 R2/2012/2012 R2 Server Core (and to Hyper-V Server ones as well)?

    Do you know how can I have Console Mode login on Windows 8?

    needs to be something related to logonui.exe, winlogon, Windows.UI.dll, Windows.UI.Cred, Windows.UI.Xaml, Windows.UI.Immersive, rundll32 and some registry keys. Can't be really difficult to have it working instead of default login screen.

    Never experimented with it, but given we have Server [Hyper]Core 2012 , that's likely feasible.

    Probably the best path is to install Core/HyperCore in a VM and compare the login related registry keys.

    Shell = explorer.exe

    Might be able to change that. Best to look up the value set on a Core edition.

    If you change the shell setting you change the whole shell, not just the logon UI

    Edge legacy = add the cab package, nothing out of ordinary

    A bit of better branding = resource editor on branding folder

    Update to 19041.331 = OK

    Update to 19041.388 = OK normal upgrades, using cabs or msu

    How does remotefx differ from the other remote desktop software? What does this offer that anydesk doesn't, for example?
