Hard Drive not erased after reformatting

    My computer is running windows vista. I formatted my computer but the hard drive still shows 150 GB of used space and the program files folder still has all my previous application programs. Why hasn't reformatting erased the hard drive?

    what steps did you do when you "formatted my computer" ?

    I ran the recovery disk that I made using the computer software for making a recovery disk.

    Recovery disk it's recovery software in original state. Format your computer, but install again with original software. It's computer is like new, with Windows Vista of manufacture.
