I have got a copy of windows 7 on my pc and dvd-rw not working correctly as when i go into wmp 11 and go to burn it says connect a burner and restart the player ?, i have already tryed disableing the hardware and rebooting the pc and reinstalling and not worked.

I can read disc and go into my computer and explore the discs but the writing side of things does not work :(

Do you mean WMP12? Or did you install WMP11?
You might have uninstalled WMP12/installed WMP11 incorrectly
Or WMP11 just might not support burning under Windows 7.

You're trying to burn a music CD I'm guessing?
Try another tool to burn the CD and see if the problem really is with your hardware, or if it's WMP11(12?).

    Try updating burners firmware.

    Cheers

If that don't work you will probably need a new writer...they tend to get busted after some time...
