yeah I have been crusing forums looking for some news on a new build. I hope we get to see a new build before the new year, but it doesn't look like it. I suspect Beta 1 will be the next build that gets released to the masses.

I too have been looking, and not finding. I have found dates of 12/08 and 1/09 - time will tell.

I rather like it. Unfortunately, it'll only fuel the fire of the ever predictable MS naysayers who are convinced W7 will be yet another bloatfest. On the surface, it does give the momentary impression that developers are more focused on glitz rather than lighter and faster.

Besides from the boot screen which indeed is horrendous (which is not affecting me at present as I am working with 6801 at present) Windows 7 is great. Its crisp and snappy something Vista could never boast.

As is widely predicted there are already many people knocking Windows 7 and they haven't even tried it and probably never will but will continue to knock it.

Remember the 'Anti Vista Brigade' now there is a new club called the 'Anti 7 Brigade'

Build 6956 is now available on torrents, but not as an installation dvd image, but as a VHD image.

I d/l the vhd file - now what?
Is there a tutorial that explains what to do with this file.
I have no experience with VHD.
I think I can create one using Disk Management in Windows 7 64 bit.

As far as things are now, people get BSOD while booting. When they'll find a way to make it work properly, there'll be a tutorial... as far as i understand, this image is a backup of the real machine, that's why it doesn't want to work on other hardware (probably)...

BSOD here. I think I will perhaps hang on for a bit for it to get sorted.
