Has anyone install windows 7 on a inspiron 6000

Just curious. I want to upgrade my dell inspiron 6000 to windows 7. Has anyone else been able to with no issues? I have read mixed reviews wanted to get some opinions.

My cpu is maxed to largest board can handle as well as my ram.

If it's really a 915-based machine, Aero is not going to be an option (there was a huge debacle when Vista came out about the GMA 950 running Aero but the 915 not being able to.) The rest of the hardware should all be fine out of the box, with the possible exception of the media card reader. I got drivers for it on my Dell E1705 via Windows Update.

ya i remember the articles. It did work on rtc vista...but final didnt. wdm driver issues. neither ms or intel wanted to pick up the ball on it.... part of the reason my newest system was a amd base. felt intel did us 915 guys wrong.... figured maybe they released it for 7 ...was a good wish.

Dell is goin to provide drivers for all the systems in few days..

Also, vista drivers works pretty well on windows 7..
And, windows 7 is pretty smart to find ur drivers via windows update :D
