i bought some of the upgrade keys i have not used yet and did not plan to before feb. has it for sure been determined they will not expire like the wmc keys will?? i see many mixed answers all over for this. has there been any official statement about it at all? thanks
You'll have to use the Keys latest on January 31. 2013, so the last day of this month and activate Windows 8 one time with each key. If you don't AFAIK the key will expire. After the key is used once before the end of that period, he'll not expire any more.
Not true. This is the case with free, Windows Media Center keys. The purchased keys (upgrade ones) won't expire, it's totally up to you when will you use them.
Bought keys will not expire its up to you when to use or not to use... Its just offer that will expire on said date... Above explained by you is only valid for WMC keys..
14.99 is for an Upgrade Key for an PC/Laptop bought within the June 2. 2012 and January 31. 2013! While the price is 39.99 it's just the Upgrade Key for any old Computer running Windows xp SP2 or 3, Vista or Windows 7!
Actually (unless it specifically asks for a serial when you're buying the upgrade key - I haven't used this offer,so I'm unclear whether or not that is the case),it also allows upgrading from the free preview versions, though that's a moot (if a bit curious)point as multiple users have reported no problems upgrading Win7 Daz-activated installs to 8 using the 40$ offer.
Even if used the RTM ISO for to do directly an Clean Installation of Windows 8 Pro, it works without any problems. I've done such installation with my company fir customers already a few hundred times. Special for customers whit less than 40 Computers, the price per Upgrade Key is lower that using an MAK or VL Key. Those keys are getting cheap if you need 50 or more.
Once you have bought the actual Windows 8 key it will not expire. Yes if you are talking about the promo codes that are used to buy windows 8 for 14.99$ then they will expire after 31st January 2013 if unused.
