    Is there a HASH that is basic user-easy-friendly enough that can be recommended?

    Yes, thanks for your quick spotting of my cry for help out here, nah, I dont' know what I did but it seems that I'm not picking up maybe
    the right category of hashs because I have been trying to get this windows 7 disc all readied up for downloading to DVD and amazing crap with all the ads that have come on and toolbars and half the time's been at trying to wipe those out and that's put me behind in everything else, but other than that woe, yeh, one of the hash's has to work! right :)

    If you don't want to use third-party software, you can use Microsoft's File Checksum Integrity Verifier (FCIV) from their site.
